We are delighted to be up and running for the new year and are just this week finishing our first of five IEP sessions this year. We are very much looking forward to 2019, as it marks the 40th anniversary of ALCI-Chico State. Yes, in 1979, ALCI welcomed its first group of students and we have been welcoming international students from across the globe ever since. In our first session of 2019, we welcomed students from eight different nations. We value diversity at ALCI!
ALCI continues to be the conditional admissions pathway of choice for CSU, Chico (Chico State) Undergraduate and Graduate students, and Butte College-bound students. Our conditionally-admitted students succeed due to the academically-focused curriculum and the University-based coursework that we offer. We continue our ALCI + Open University program option, which provides an opportunity for qualified ALCI students to enroll in regularly-scheduled CSU, Chico classes without formal admission to the University.
ALCI conducted two short-term special programs in January and February of 2019. These programs were for part-time students taking advantage of their normal university break schedule to immerse themselves in the Northern California culture and excellent University setting that Chico State offers. These short-term programs are becoming increasingly popular and ALCI is prepared to welcome new students into existing programs as well as creating unique programs for our partners.
