DAAD – German Academic Exchange Service

DAAD – German Academic Exchange Service

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is the largest funding organisation in the world supporting the international exchange of students and scholars. It is a joint organization of German institutions of higher education and their student bodies, devoted to internationalizing the academic and scientific research system. It promotes transnational cooperation and university partnerships, and is the German national agency for EU higher education cooperation. The DAAD actively supports Germany’s foreign cultural and educational policy goals, national scientific policies and development cooperation efforts.

A short presentation on DAAD programs can be found here.

DAAD runs over 250 funding programmes which range from semesters abroad for undergraduates to doctoral programmes, from internships to visiting lectureships, and from information-gathering visits to assisting with the establishment of new universities abroad.
